Thousands of fans across Los Angeles took over streets to celebrate the Dodgers’ World Series title win on Nov. 1.

Fans flooded intersections in downtown LA, Echo Park and Pacoima with hundreds waving flags, dancing, singing and lighting fireworks. Drivers did car donuts and motorcycle burnouts, while Waymos and Metro buses were vandalized.

According to LAPD, six people were arrested across Los Angeles – three for felony vandalism, one for battery on a peace officer, one for fireworks and one for injury to a peace officer horse.

In Echo Park, fans watched the Dodgers take on the Blue Jays in Toronto inside bars lining Sunset Boulevard.

At the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Douglas Street, The Douglas bar hosted a watch party where dozens of patrons had crowded the small patio to watch the game on an outdoor television.

At 6 p.m., LAPD issued a citywide tactical alert as a precaution to the public’s response to the outcome of game seven and shut down many streets.

At 8 p.m., LAPD called an unlawful assembly on The Douglas bar, forcing management to turn off the patio television and ordering patrons to disperse from the area. However, the fans ignored the orders with boos, one shouting, “go back to Anaheim,” and others flipping the bird.

At 9:18 p.m., when the Dodgers took the win in extras, fans on the patio cheered and rejoiced, but were met with LAPD forcing them out.

Patrons from all bars on the street and fans in the surrounding neighborhood took over Sunset Boulevard and Echo Park Avenue. They celebrated for approximately an hour before LAPD made it to the intersection from The Douglas. Officers used horses, less-than-lethals and tear gas to disperse the crowd.

By 11:13 p.m., LAPD had pushed the last of the patrons to Sunset and Rosemont Avenue where they used tear gas to force the remaining fans out.
