NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - In the sixth MVP (Most Valuable Professor) Day of the 2024-25 academic year, the Matador Men's Volleyball team paid tribute to 12 CSUN professors on Feb. 22 at Premier America Credit Union Arena.
Prior to the top-10 Big West showdown between No. 9 CSUN and No. 5 Hawai'i, each participating student-athlete honored one professor who significantly impacted their academic journey, underscoring the deep connections beyond the classroom.
- Luca Ricci, a professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, was invited by student-athlete Matteo Salvador.
- Katrina Hill, a professor in the Department of Psychology, Michael Neubauer, was invited by student-athlete Stilian Delibosov.
- Maria Elena de las Carreras, a professor in the Department of Cinema and Television Arts, was invited by student-athlete Boaz Serson.
- Jennifer Marshall, a professor in the Department of Communication Studies, was invited by student-athlete Braden Pool-Harris.
- Jared Karpel, a professor in the Department of Business and Economics, was invited by student-athlete Donovan Constable.
- Keli Rowley, a professor in the Department of English, was invited by student-athlete Joao Avila.
- Sandor Samuels, a professor in the Department of Business Law, was invited by student-athlete Nir Eitan.
- Tzong-Ying, a professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and Construction Management, was invited by student-athlete Owen Douphner.
- Rebecca Hyde Gonzalez, a professor in the Department of LRC, was invited by student-athlete Joao Favarim.
- Carlos Nunez, a professor in the Department of Finance, was invited by student-athlete Trevor Lau.
- Karen Blackwell, a professor in the Department of Marketing, was invited by student-athlete Cody Bowker.
- Fran William Guzman, a professor in the Department of Marketing, was invited by student-athlete Lorenzo Bertozzi.
The next Most Valuable Professor Day will be held Saturday, Mar. 3 before the CSUN Baseball game vs. UC Riverside.
