Two CSUN Volleyball Players Named to USA U23 National Team

Two CSUN volleyball players were among 21 athletes selected to train with an under-23 team that is part of the pipeline to the USA men’s national team.
CSUN senior setter Donovan Constable and redshirt sophomore opposite Jalen Phillips will train with the 2025 Men’s U23 National Team for the NORCECA U23 Pan American Cup. Twelve of these 21 athletes will be selected to compete in the Pan American Cup, July 27-Aug. 4 in Guatemala City, and in various other tournaments.
Constable and Phillips both have previous USA Volleyball experience, as each was selected to the 2024 Men’s Collegiate National Team that trained in Anaheim last summer.
This is the first time multiple CSUN athletes have been chosen for a national team program.
Matador Kyle Hobus ’23 (Communications) is currently on the main USA Men’s Team, competing in the Volleyball Nations League, which features the world’s top 18 teams. Former CSUN NVA/AVCA All-American Daniel Wetter ’22, like Hobus, is also part of the 30-player pool that coach Karch Kiraly will pick from for events in the cycle leading up the Olympics.
