CSUN Student-Athletes of the Week - Oct. 30
Each week during the 2023-24 season, GoMatadors.com selects two Matadors as Student-Athletes of the Week. This week, we highlight women's volleyball's Leah Miller and men's cross country's Atticus Hall for their individual performances on the court and on the course.
Sophomore opposite Leah Miller led the CSUN women's volleyball team to a split in a pair of home matches last week.
Miller opened the week in spectacular fashion, putting down a Matador season-high 21 kills in CSUN's 3-1 victory over Cal State Bakersfield. Miller hit an impressive .450 on 40 swings against the Roadrunners while also adding one block, one dig, and one ace. She then added five kills and a pair of blocks against Hawai'i to cap the week as CSUN closed out a 1-1 homestand. For the week, Miller averaged 3.71 kills per set while hitting .322 on 59 attacks.
Atticus Hall would lead the CSUN men's cross country team at the 2023 Big West Championships last Friday.
A sophomore, Hall registered a personal record time of 24:57.1 and scored 26th-place points (26th overall) at the event. He has led the Matadors on the men's side in three events overall this season as also posted a team-best 6K time at the Big West Preview (18:55.7) and a team-leading 8K time at the UC Riverside Invitational (24:58.0) earlier this fall.
