Attempted Sexual Assault in the USU
An attempted sexual assault in the men’s restrooms near the CSUN University Student Union computer labs was reported on Monday morning.
An alert was issued by the Department of Police Services via text, phone call and email, stating that the incident happened around 10:15 a.m.
According to the email, the suspect is a 250-pound white or Hispanic male in his 20’s, who has black hair, a stubble beard and was wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and blue shoes. The email also states that officers tracked the suspect through CCTV to the Botanic Garden, but were unable to find him.
Deputy Chief Mark Benavidez said in a phone call that as of this morning, there were no additional details about the incident and that this is still an ongoing investigation.
