Matador Statue
Unveiled in 2011, the Matador Statue has become a central focus of the campus. As you walk by, you may notice red roses at the Matador’s feet or along the base of the statute. It’s part of the CSUN ritual called the Tradition of the Rose. We place roses here to show school spirit before sporting events, to commemorate major campus affairs or to celebrate personal or academic achievements. In that way, the statue brings our community closer together and displays our Matador pride.
