Tyler Mariucci Hired as CSUN’s Deputy Director of Athletics
NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – California State University, Northridge Director of Athletics Shawn Chin-Farrell has announced the hiring of Tyler Mariucci as Deputy Director of Athletics – Chief Revenue Officer.
Mariucci will serve on the Athletics Department's executive and senior staffs, and will lead a comprehensive revenue generation program. As the Deputy Director of Athletics, Mariucci will represent the department in Chin-Farrell's absence.
"I have known Tyler Mariucci for several years and his joining our team speaks to the tremendous excitement surrounding the direction of CSUN Athletics," Chin-Farrell said. "He is a highly-respected professional in our industry with a proven track record and most importantly, he is a great person. Tyler brings an incredible level of energy and expertise and will be a key person to help lead us on the road to Big West Championships. We are thrilled to welcome Tyler, his wife Jennifer and their children to CSUN."
Mariucci comes to the Valley from California Baptist University where he served as Director of Athletics since 2021. He guided the Lancers' through a highly successful transition to full NCAA Division I membership in August 2022.
A seasoned fundraiser for more than a decade, Mariucci made an indelible impact as the athletics department eclipsing $2 million in fundraising for the first time during the 2022-23 fiscal year – the highest total in the program's history. Mariucci also secured one of the largest pouring right sponsorships at the Division I mid-major level with Pepsi in 2022.
Additionally, Mariucci oversaw a $20 million facility campaign phase, highlighted by the completion of a new $5 million soccer facility and the expected construction of a new state-of-the-art baseball softball clubhouse.
Prior to his appointment at CBU, Mariucci worked his way up in intercollegiate athletics, including executive and senior level positions at multiple institutions such as San Diego State, University of San Diego, Maryland, Memphis and Fresno State.

A former Division I FCS football student-athlete at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, Mariucci graduated with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology before receiving his master's in kinesiology, with an emphasis in sport management from San Jose State. He also graduated from the Sports Management Institute held at the University of Notre Dame and the University of Georgia and was the peer-selected class commencement speaker.
