Events to honor the legacy and activism of Martin Luther King Jr. were a bit delayed at CSUN, due to the wildfires — but celebrations resumed later in January and February, on days of service with members of the local community. On Jan. 31, Danielle Spratt, director of CSUN’s Office of Community Engagement, led story time for preschool children at the University LIbrary. Over at CSUN’s G.A.R.D.E.N., volunteers joined staff from the Institute for Sustainability in preparing winter and spring crops. This month, members of the CSUN Crochet Club will join residents of the L.A. Jewish Health Senior Living center to create donations for community members.
