On Feb. 9, Trevor Lawrence Jr., a Grammy Award-winning jazz musician, came to campus to teach a master class to CSUN jazz students. The class consisted of a presentation of Lawrence’s musical history, as well as advice for upcoming musicians to follow to in order to receive a leg up in the industry. He emphasized the importance of having chemistry within the band, networking and making connections, and being diverse in the amount of things you are good at. A few jazz students got the opportunity to show off their musical talent, which is the background music of the video. The band of friends consisted of Lana Drincic on the piano, Ryan Embola on the bass, and Gavin Harris on the drums.
