Award-winning, 90,000-square-foot Chaparral Hall is one of the most architecturally interesting buildings on campus. It serves as a state-of-the-art teaching and research facility and contains research labs, introductory teaching labs, a DNA-sequencing lab and a microscopy suite. The building has many high-tech features, including fiber-optic data transmission for its confocal and electron microscopes. Chaparral Hall also has a 5,000-square-foot vivarium — a terrarium for small animals — and a four-story outdoor lobby that’s perfect for interaction and innovation.
