The Soraya is the valley’s center for the performing arts, and it offers vibrant and diverse programming with year-round dance, theatrical and musical events as well as films and lectures. The LEED Gold-certified building itself is a work of art, with 30,000 square feet of glass, elegant, sweeping curves across the front, a 15-foot adjustable orchestra platform and a main hall that seats 1,700. Currently enrolled students receive up to two tickets for $20 to any performance — and sometimes shows are free! Next to the main hall is a 178-seat black box theatre available for experimental and student performances. Four theatre labs provide training environments for costume, set and lighting design, and there are two full-size rehearsal spaces. The Soraya is also home to the campus radio station, KCSN, located online at thesocalsound.org and at 88.5 FM on your radio. Give it a listen!
