Each week during the 2022-23 season, GoMatadors.com selects two Matadors as Student-Athletes of the Week. This week, we highlight Softball's Isabella Alonso and Men's Track's Logan Davis for their individual performances on the field and on the track.

Alonso was named Big West Freshman Softball Player of the Week on Mar. 20. Alonso tossed a complete game one-hitter as the Matadors defeated the Mustangs 5-0 in the conference opener on Mar. 18. Alonso faced the minimum through the first three innings before issuing a Jessica Clements single to lead off the bottom of the fourth. However, she quickly retired the Mustangs to get out of the inning.

The righty retired the final 11 Mustangs in a row. Alonso faced 22 batters, needing only 64 pitches (40 for strikes) to record her third shutout of the season. Alonso got nine fly and eight ground ball outs in the game as she struck out one. In her second start of the weekend on Mar. 19, Alonso started and went 3.2 innings as CSUN would win the game 2-1. The Cypress, Calif. native allowed two hits and walked two as she faced 15 batters. Alonso threw 54 pitches, 30 for strikes during the outing.
